MERRILLVILLE | Restoring America's manufacturing prowess is about changing perceptions as much as it is about enacting policies in Washington that support the industry, a policy adviser to President Barack Obama told an audience Wednesday.
As a speaker at a manufacturing jobs summit, Ron Bloom, senior counselor for manufacturing policy to the Obama administration, said the country lost its way in recent years, allowing manufacturing to erode and people to believe financial businesses could provide the backbone of the economy.
